Hello everybody welcome to the five minutes PM podcast today. I like to discuss how do I, Evaluate a job offer in project management. This is a very, very hard topic and that, and I'm given in this podcast, my own personal opinion. It's very hard because this podcast will reach people from all over the world and the cultural aspects in the Valley setting, SOF each professional it's individual.

So I cannot create a general role that will work for everybody and in all cases, but now I'd like only to share my opinion about How, what we should use and how We decide about different job offers to work in project management. Most of them are generically for all kinds kind of business, but that I like to think in some spaces, if one's talking about project management, the first compensation money, there's this obviously one of the most important it's very, very important here to others that this is not the only measurement that you need to consider to decide for a job.

For sure. You need to have a competitive salary, a competitive compensation package, but receive a great, and the great deal doesn't mean that you are receiving the great job. I'm concerned that if I receive a very, that, and bore Job Offer does is bad, but then the other hand, and if I receive an outcome spending Job Offer without any parameter, much better than all offers in the market, is this good?

This is something that we need to think because maybe this extremely excellent job Offer hide something regarding an expectation regarding me's understanding of the project manager role that does landing this. People do expect maybe more maybe or something magical to solve their problems. So we need to understand that everything that out of the Wrangler and the average in the marketplace, it's something that we need to be casuals.

We need to look for more InDEEP. The second aspect. Now, considering that compensation is okay. The second aspect is who is behind this, this company? What is this company doing? What does their values regarding project management? Usually, let me give you some tips. Usually beginners in project management, people without too much experience, they are more willing to work in companies, more maturity in project managers, white, because they can get this knowledge from the company that they will be working for him.

And this is some kind of compensation and for them not money compensation, but knowledge compensation. In the other hand, more experience, project managers, the are more interested. This is my own opinion and more interested in companies with a lot of, he has matured it in project management. Y because they have such an amount of offered to do too. This company that does motivate them for the challenge.

So we usually one compensates the other they're mature companies. They attract more people with lower experiencing products. They are willing to understand and to apply for this company to learn and the opposite side, last maturity companies they require, and they are more interested. In more experienced project managers. A and it's a very dangerous sometimes if you have a very low maturity company with a very quick, an experienced professional there's will be a very risky position in project management.

And one last thing I'd like to share with you is the area, the area. For example, if I'm a civil engineer, I will be more motivated or to work in the same field So construction companies. We will attract me more for, because I will apply all the knowledge that I learned in at the university. In the other hand, I see a lot of people looking for different fields. This is my own case.

I'm a chemical engineer, but I love work in different fields. I love to have new customers working in something that's very unique for me. Why? Because with that, I can apply all the laws that I have in other projects, and they'll still learn and also improve my skills in a different sector. So this is the two sides. So the people that are looking to stay in the same field, it people it's one of this case, ID people.

I know two kinds of it. People they're the people that work once to leave and work in it. And people that want to learn it to apply it and to apply a speed. And this is very nimble, a line of thinking in order fields. So this, you need to understand and listen this podcast and see what works for you as an opportunity. But again, money it's one time piece off the overall package, but its not the only one.
