Hi everyone. Here is Ricardo Vargas, and this is the 5 Minutes Podcast. Today, I would like to make a statement and give you some rationale about the AI-Driven Project Manager Certification we are releasing now. And I want to explain because many people ask me why we are creating a credential for that. It's just because we like or it's just because it's a business opportunity. So, let me give you a rationale. The first part of the rationale is that AI is becoming mainstream. It has a big hype on it, and we are seeing a lot of people saying nonsense things around AI and coming from project managers. So project managers are just using the hype of AI and trying to write articles and trying to talk about anything using the word AI just to give the hype. But they have no clue what AI is about. It's just because you put a prompt on ChatGPT and press enter. Oh, I'm using AI, or I'm an expert in AI. This is absolutely nonsense. So, with this credential, what we aim? We aim to make sure that people have the minimum knowledge to deliver and understand AI-driven Project Managers. So it's a closed book. It's a proctored exam. It's a serious exam. So it's not an exam that you will do ten times until you pass and get your badge. It's not like you pay to play. No, no, it's not like that. It's a series. And we did a partnership. It was hard to get them with us on board. It was months of work with APMG to get this. So APMG, just for those who do not know, APMG was responsible for the Prince2 and ITIL credentials for many, many years, and they are extremely serious about what they do.
So they will be hosting. So, it's not a certification by Antonio Nieto and Ricardo. No, no, we are, I would say, the brains behind and the brains behind the need. But APMG is the owner of the certification, the badge, the credential, and all the endorsements. All the exam administration belongs to them. Antonio and I develop prep material to support people, to understand, and to get ready. But what we want? We want people to know what they're talking about when they talk about AI. The second thing is we want to create a movement. So, by doing this credential together with the masterclass, together with many other things we are doing in this environment, what do we expect? We expect that more and more people become conscious of the impact of AI in our project management life. We truly believe, and this is, I would say, a root reason for that. We truly believe that in a few years, the landscape of our profession will shift dramatically, and we do not believe that most of the project managers are there yet. We discussed this in our last webinar when we saw several other areas moving very fast on embracing, adopting, and preparing for AI, but we couldn't see this same pace in the project management field. We saw amazing actions coming from PMI and its brilliant work. I have already said that many times, but we have not seen it yet. You know, the PMOs were embracing that; project managers use that in the way we want. So, by doing this, we are trying to create the stimuli to do that.
And last but definitely not least, some people think, oh, this is a, I would say a business decision from Ricardo and Antonio. And as I said two weeks ago, you know, we are not doing this mainly for business, okay? It's of course we have, I would say the revenue from the masterclass, but these are I would say in today's environment on both Antonio's life and my life. You know, something that is not critical at all. And what is important is we are doing a lot of free stuff, a lot of free stuff, and all the paid stuff, and I'm talking for myself. I channeled this money to the scholarship program of my online school. So it's not that. It's not that we're trying to scam people into thinking, okay, I will just blow and disappear in a year. And we are trying to do that. We do not believe that. We believe that I will become much more mainstream than we think in one, two, or three years from now. And I'm pretty sure that many people who are not prepared will be taken by surprise. This is where I see a lot of challenges coming in, and this is why we are making such a massive effort to do that.
