Hello everybody. And welcome to the five minutes before the podcast today, directly from New York city from the PMI Professional Development Day 2009 promoted by PMI New York City Chapter it's an event with about 250 project management professionals. It's out by credit Suisse. It's in the head of their headquarters here in New York city. And it was a very interesting event. It's one day talking about the transformation, how we can transform ourselves and transform our companies to deliver better results.

And I started the, Day talking about the value of project management. I did the opening session, and at this time I address three key value propositions. The first one talking about desiccation, this is much more clear for everybody it's to do with less money and less time and to deliver results regarding reduced the amount of costs and also reduce the leis and deliver it faster. The second topic about Valley was the integration Valley.

It's how we can see the Valley of froze at management. Doing the integration with all the strategic aspect is not only doing on time and on budget, but also make the great connections with all the strategy. And the third one is the learning is the ability that organization will raise from learn. So they will learn how to adopt new technologies and how to innovate. And innovation is a key piece of all the value proposition of project management, because project management is really tightened to innovation.

We do projects not to repeat something, but two, we innovate then to create value. The second topic that was raise it after my presentation, which we had some presentations about a jail. And again, I recorded one Podcast about three or four months ago, talking about the PMBOK in the jail. And they address this again during the presentation, it should not a jail or PMBOK, its not something like a flexible against a strong and rigid.

This is not the right thing. All the PMBOK model it's to be used that for most of the project's most of the time. And it does mean I'm not telling you that you must do 42 different processes in nine knowledge areas to be successful. And project management know all of the framework is to help people to address better. There are project management requirements and agility can be used it in conjunction with PMBOK and with many, a standard to deliver better results.

So I address there is a strongly during the day, all day, and we have many, many questions about that. It was a very productive and good discussions. The second topic it's about resource human resource and my friend Jose tone did a great presentation there about passionate is a quiche talking about the human science of the project execution. And this is something that is on the spot several weeks ago at publish one podcast about the seven soft skills and soft skills is everything because usually we aren't to prepare it in the technical side and we are not so prepared.

And in the human side, the human side takes place now to help us to deliver better results through a great motivation, dealing with power, conflict management and all of this aspects will increase your talent and talent was the third topic. I finished my presentation talking about talent. And then during the Roundtable, by the end of the day, we discuss and many, many things about what is talent and how do I prepare myself for the future.

And then I said in the best in human skills study and try to differentiate yourself from the market. And then we have many, many discussions about the jobs, employment, business opportunities. What do we need to do to increase our potential together in a new job or to get a new client? And it was all about project management skills plus human resource skills So to address the superior practice performance in project management with superior practice of human resource.

So this two things together will deliver the results. The event was great. And for me, was it a wonderful opportunity to see what is going on in one of the most important CD's in the world, in for you that are in listen, this podcast, our not from New York, it's great to see that all the globalization has and very interesting impact because we are discussing this not only in New York, but we are discussing this is invalid is launching my home town, but we are discussing this also in Indonesia, in Malaysia at the beginning of the year.

So this is a global trend. It's not a local trend and the more so the gap of talent, all the job requirements and how you can leverage your Professional to a new Sterner and also all this comment regarding agility and the jail. And it's so interesting to talk about that because there is a huge misperception on that an all this passionate is acute and all of this together to deliver value real.

What it's matter is the results that you bring to your company. This is what really matters and the results are based at, in the Excel in execution integration with all strategy and the third one, learning the ability to innovate all the time into learning, to adapt yourself to a new trend. I'm pretty sure that most of the projects that we'll be doing in five or 10 years will be completely different from the projects that we are doing right now.

So it was a wonderful Day. I'd like to thank you again. All the people from PMI New York city Chapter that hosts me during this day. It was great.
