Hello everybody welcome to the five minutes PM podcast today. I like to discuss about Project Success what is success in one of the most important things, but I like to share with you in this Podcast is that success is one thing. Super ration is a, not a thing. And why I'm telling you that. Because most of the time we'll say, Oh, this is, was a second stressful project because it finished had the scalp, it finished spending last money.

The client was surprising by an exceeding or an excellent product. This is not the right measure for success. When we think about project management, we are thinking came up about regularity accomplish what would plan. And then you may ask me So you are proposing to me that I plan an, if I have opportunity to go ahead of scandal to finish one month before you were saying to me that this is failure in some parts.

Yes, but let me challenge you. One thing that we need to understand that all separation, all challenge must be done on at the beginning of the planning. So we need to do send, develop a proper project plan, all challenging aspects. So when I put my objective, then I need to built and the strong and challenging objective in not the weak objective that it's easily overcome.

No, we need to, okay. Let's put all our challenges, all our expectations on the objective, let's build a very strong and challenging the project plan and let's do it. Let's do it. So I'm not telling you that a separation in great results better than expected are wrong, but what I'm like and challenging you to do is to prepare a challenging project plan.

What all does expectation, all of these challenges in the plan, and then do it. It's not a good idea during the Project you are doing work and having a lot of trouble. And then you say, Oh, my project will be successful. Only if I finished before the deadline. Only if a spam less money. So let's agree during that, the project planning that the budget we'll be a challenge. Okay. And let's do it.

Okay. It's one minute dollar. This is or budget. If we do this project with 1 million, this will be great. This will be great. Great. Because everybody was expecting 1.3. So let's challenge. Let's put one meter on a dollar in the plan and let you do it. And let's do it. An, if we do it in the million, then we are doing what everybody was expecting. It's not speed. It's not about speed.

Sometimes the speed is very dangerous in a strategic way. Let, let me give you a very easy example and only to explain you that let's suppose that I'm a chocolate factory and I'm preparing Easter eggs for Easter. OK. So, but then she would say a good doing that project developed in that project. So good. So good that, Oh, my chocolate eggs where ready by November the ear before Easter, something like five or six months before this is good.

Is this good? When it's Easter, my ads, my chocolate will be old. It will not be so fresh. So the challenge is to deliver on time, own budget. This is the challenge because most of our stakeholders, we are expecting this because they believe that we produce very weak plants and then they see, okay, you must do it with less time.

But if we do this in the planning, Dan, when we execute it, we'll be perfect because we, we deliver the results that everybody will expect. So let's think about that.
