Hello everybody welcome to the five minutes PM podcast. Today I'd like to discuss and talk a little bit about the Brazilian Congress have project management that happened last week in Brasilia the Brazilian capital. We about to a hundred people, 1300 people from all over the country. This was an event promoted by all Brazilian chapters. So all Brazilian chapters are working together for this Congress and this Congress happened last year in Bella.

the miniaturized a state capital, and now its in Brasilia So it's a great opportunity to show how robust is project management becoming in Brazil on the 27th Dober we started doing the, the small courses and workshops with covering topics like risk management and risk management credential simulation of the PMP credential, practical workshops covering the experience and the cultural of project management.

If we have about 10 workshop's in the first day, in the second day on 28th, we opened the Congress received in Mark Langley, the new BMI president and CEO starting on January 1st. He will be replacing Greg Ballis strata that stay in leading PMI for seven years. And it's great to have Mark again because last year he went to the Belo Horizonte. Congress the fourth edition of this Congress and this shows how important Brazil is becoming for PMI global operation center bringing or not only Mark Lingling, but also Louis American that give a presentation about project management.

As in a strategic competence. American is a very powerful either in the project management field, he was 2005 PMI chair. He is a PMI fellow. He discuss it with the group about strategic competence, how project management is becoming critical for companies to deliver better results. After he speech Brian Hobbs gave a presentation about what research is telling us about PMOs. Ah, the results of the new research is about project management office to show what is going on in the PMO field, just after lunch stiffened Lilburn told about improvisation in Project or agile project management in, he did a great job explaining the new disciplines that are covering project management, but this is so good.

It's so good to see you. Like I'm saying in all my podcasts marketing, an orange areas are extremely important to project management. So this was a very good after that Judith, she gave a presentation about leadership and the power of acknowledgment. And one thing that amazed me during her presentation is that she discuss it with 1200 people and people raising their time, hence asking given comments. So it was a very interesting presentation talking about how powerful is to recognize people, how powerful, how this can make big change.

So this was covering more, a much more the human side of project management. After that, I finished the day doing my presentation about excellence in project and how this can make the difference in the Brazilian growth Brazilian is growing dramatically. And we have one about 1.2, $1.3 trillion in investment only in way the next two years. So I was explaining how project management and how to Excel in project management can make a huge difference for the Brazilian future.

And also for the profession in the other day, in the second day of the Congress, but third day of event, we split the group group in five different areas and five different rooms. And then we have the breakout sections. So with many, many topics covered, we receive it about to any different speakers from all over the country and extremely good people. And it was a great opportunity to meet this people and to network with them topics like CAPM, like stakeholder management, like a sustainability like government, like world cup and Olympic games So covering different topics.

It was really, really powerful and a great opportunity to discuss better results using project management. This was, as I said, during my speech and just after my speech of the Congress, this was the event built by volunteers. And this is showing important because to have this amount of people using volunteers, we Mark Langley, Louis American and myself, we were together to congratulate the volunteers. So, and I had the opportunity to shake hands with all of them because it's great to see people building a Congress like this one in the volunteer base.

So this show us that we can make things happen was a great opportunity to network and to see the young people. One thing that amazed me, the youngest people, we have hundreds, all of the students and they are the future of project management. So for me, it was a great opportunity to see them to talk to them because they represent the future. They represent the future of the professional.
