Hello everybody welcome to the five minutes PM podcasts. Today I like to discuss with you about the CAPM we're Certified Associate in Project Management the CAPM BM is the credential the BMI provides to the team members, and I'd like to start explaining and trying to clarify, what does this credential? A lot of people mixup this credential with the PMP and they think, Oh, should I take the PMP or the CAPM first, the credential was created by in 2003 focus on the team members, not the, on the project manager.

So the PMP is the project manager credential to do all the management in the project. But for the team members, let's suppose I'm a sponsor of a project. I can have the credentials, the certification CAPM for me, because this will help me to understand, okay, all the pros are in the environment. Soy can support the PMP or in the project manager to handle the project. Why am starting to explain in this?

Because a lot of people see something like an ear arche on that. So the PMP is more than the CAPM. If we think about the technical side, deep of the exam, you are right. The PMP it's a much deeper process to Certified then the CAPM. But I not looking only at, on that. If I need to be an, a sponsor of a project, maybe I don't need to study everything and have all the experience as a project manager.

I need maybe to understand this environment and be a CAPM or if I'm starting my career. So I have two paths CAPM to become in the future of the PMP or the CAPM, because I don't need to have all the involvement and all the technical aspects of the PMP. So that CAPM what does someone with the CAPM Prudential do first support the planning process.

So to help to Butte the project plan estimate cost and time. What do I mean by that? Its to prepare scalpels, sat, bad lines, evaluate cost, fix it, cost variable costs, total cost, refined requisites, all the project management to build up the scope statement, the dabblers yes. And support in the administrative and financial aspects to the project.

So these are the main roles. And not me talking about conflict management, I'm not talking about negotiation skills. It's different. It's different. So what is the perfect Project team? It's a team lead by a very senior PNP with a team member. Our team members have CAPM imagine this. This is the idea that the whole idea of this credential we have in the world, something about 12,500 people all over the ward.

It's a very small number in one of the reasons that I'm recording this podcast is to explain everybody the benefits of investing time in the CAPM credential. So if you were a PMP and you were preparing your team, why not invest in the CAPM to have a more qualified a team? Why not invite your senior executive team to think about becoming a CAPM and understand more in depth?

What is a project management So to do this? The requirements is the secondary diploma, high school or a equivalent or a college degree plus 1500 hours of experience or 23 hours, three days of training, three days of training. So it's a very light process. If we compare this with PMP or PDMP or the credentials from all or associations.

So this is the entry point and not only the entry point in the career, but the entry point in project management next week, I'd like to explain to you in the second Podcast about CAPM what are the requirements?
