Hello everybody welcome to the five minutes PM podcast today. I like to share with you something that I was really interested about sharing about the business model, relating to the project manager, how you can build your business model about your career, but before let me talk you how this happened in my life to think about this business model. I was with a very close friend, the Brazilian friend, Paul Finocchio from Brazil.

We were very close friends in that we were together, I think in a dinner and he just sat to me. He kind of have you read the book Business Model You. And I said, no, Adam, I dunno. And he suggested me to buy it. I bought, I rather quickly. I like very much reading and that, of course I shot many, many different business model business model for a photographer for a web designer. But of course, of course, I didn't see it, it for the project manager.

And then I said, what about building something like this for the project manager, I received something like five to 10 emails every single day. Just talking about career people talk about, Oh, I'm doing this. I'm studying to be certified, but I don't know how I can handle my career, how I can improve. I want to be successful, but I'm not finding the right path. So this podcast, and also the video that I produced it's available for you now.

So I wanted to share this and what I did, I started figuring out this and they recorded a video to explain this in the video is on my channel on YouTube and also on the website. Then of course it's free. So just download it or watch on YouTube, whatever the best way you want. And that one, of course, this was much more for fun, but also to help you to think your, of course your does need to be the same, but this is just to stimulate you to think about this and the business model.

It's a business model canvas, but this is a, something like a, a, a one sheet, a where you can download these on the website. Business, Model you.com our business model of generation.com. It it's free for download, so he can just download it and print and all you need. There's just to print this out and also some PostIt notes. And you, if you do not have posted notes, just take some pieces of paper with a tape and just do with the tape. So nobody can tell me that that's not possible to do.

I did this. I recorded this video using my mobile phone. So it's really something that you can challenge yourself to think more about you and about your business. And then what I suggest you to start about thinking who can buy my service, who can by myself as a project manager, which kind of plan governments, private companies, consulting companies who can be a potential customer for what I do, and in the middle, there's the value proposition, why they will to contract me.

Y what's the reason behind contracting me will contract me because I will be cheaper because I have knowledge. What does the key, but what is your differential and what is your proposal differentiation? Then this, of course, on the bottom of the page will bring you to have a new salary, profit training books. Whatever of course, on the left side, you will have some costs. I try this and this costs are pretty much basic.

Or if you go to the canvas on the top left two, the partnership, activities, and resources. If your a valid proposition has to be someone with extremely high knowledge, you need to prove me which kind of activities or you will be doing to have this knowledge. So you need to spend money to study or to do certification. Please do not think that I'm talking how to do this. I'm just giving you suggestions and you need to find your niche where you work.

Good. So you can use this. And I'd like to invite you like I did. I like to strongly invite you to go into this journey in trying to understand, because of course you have a different path in your life, and a lot of people has the challenge. So I'm so happy to share with you, not only the podcasts, but the video, because it's so good to have some time to think about our future. And now its about our strategies. And one thing that amazed me on this business model is that it's quick, it's fast, solely.

It's nothing that will take, okay. I need one year to revisit this know it's something that you can do one Friday night. So instead of going out to have beer and just have fun, take this time to have a different, fun, a fun thinking about your future self as a project manager. So I put this on the wall and try to figure out, and if this Model is quick, it's great because you have the opportunity to think.

So I created, this is exactly to challenge him because most of the solutions we think about your careers, project management, he lives on You and not yet and not only in my life. And so think about that.
