Hello everybody welcome to the five Minutes BM podcast and a special series about careers in Project Management this week, we are on Part three of the series, and we are discussing the 10 dimensions of project management. Career on the first part I discuss experience and study. Last week, I discuss how relevant is to have focus and how to use your own planning, experience your own product management experience to plan your Career. This week, I wanted to discuss how important is to be persistent and how important and is to be a jail and dynamic in your search for a better career. We are going to the persistency way we should consider and be constrained at about being present because you need to look for the results you need to beat the determinant. You need to make it happen. You need to be proactive and not reactive. So it's very, very important because most people are reacting to things, but you need to be acting. You need to make things. Let me give you a clear example for those poor thinking about taking the PMP certification, our prints to be a credential. Let me give you advice, or maybe it's against the planning purpose, but it's very relevant for the persistency is scaffold your exam, and then is starts studying like crazy. If you start, study and think that all the time and when I'm ready, I will do the exam. Trust me. We will take five times more for you to do the exam because you are making a pressure. So persistency and this dynamic, this is what makes you do things differently. You know, it's to increase your level of positive stress of making things or the why's. We tend to slow down and just relax. So if you want to pursue a better career, you need to have this positive stress. You need to have this persistence. So for those who are starting to Career, don't think it will go well the first time because there is a very high profile that you will fail on your first trial. So you need to remember the concept of entropy. The physical concept of entropy tends to be infinite. This is a very basic physical concept and let's translate it to our daily work. Thanks. We'll go wrong. Netflix. You're Project will fail Natalie, but to not fail, you need to spend energy. You need to have a good project manager. You need to give good planning to try to come back to go against this entropy concept of kales. So you need to understand this, this Persistence So like the Persistence I have Today recording this podcast at 2:21 AM on a Sunday. For those who are transitioning careers don't let the fear dominate you because it's very common. When you lose a job, you become dominated by fear. I don't have money. I have that's a, I need to find, you know, don't let I know it's hard. I know it's hard. I know it's not easy, but you need to be strong because in the marketplace we will try and evaluate you and your work to pay less, don't let them do that. So you need to have this personal system of showing your value with people or closing the door in front of you, but yeah. Who with your Persistence, you will find an open door. It's very, very important. When you are improving two new horizons, don't let your current frustration with your work, dominate and influence your future. Look for new options. There will never knock your dollar alone. I always remember 1996, I wrote exactly the same Delmar 96 letters, two different publishers to publish my first book. Do you know what happened? I received only one call back and it's my current publisher that I'm working with them since that time. So very, very important that you will understand that things will not happen alone by themselves. It's very, very, very unusual. You need to go there and make it happen. Now, talking about Dynamism, it's very important that you cannot wait. Things happen. You need to make things happen. Agility demonstrates energy, interest and motivation capability of doing things. So make things happen, being dynamic. So for those who are starting to Career the volunteer, anything in your life, but be volunteers be engaged and with nice things that we'll improve too. Do you remember what I said last week? Brick by brick shows interest. Don't think that because you are starting, Career you say, Oh, my salary is too low. I will not do this. This is one of the worst things you can do. Start in your career. If you are transitioning, your Career chooses a position with high visibility. Be the leading actor, not the supporting actor, because people need to know you if you promise to deliver because you need visibility because people need to know that your interest is to become a project manager. For those who are opening their horizon, choose things that will aggregate too. You do things like that. And that people do not want to do. You know, everybody's declining. You will accept because you want to make things different. And look, we do not prefer to wait at the same time. And I think forever, this is one of them, the most important thing that I want to close this podcast is that if you stay two hours, yeah, doing the same thing, you will start becoming less mobile. If you become less Mobil, you lose your flexibility. If you lose your flexibility and need to move You I will break you are. So this is one of the things that I keep on the top of my mind in my career all the time. It's to be metamorphosed all the time, thinking different because this will make me more resistant to the different scenarios in my career. So it's very, very important that you keep this message for this week and next week we'll be continued on the Tam area's and I'll be discussing with you. He started with flexibility and self-knowledge. See you next week with another five minutes PM. Podcast.
