Hello. Hello everybody. Welcome to the five minutes PM podcast today. I'd like to talk about one. The Report made by PM Network magazine about Trends. This was published in June, 2009, and it was written by Sarah Gayle talking about Five Trends Big trans in the business climate today. And it was very interesting reading about how the economic downturn is changing the landscape of the projects and the Five the first of the five Big Trends hyper efficiency.

There is no time for waste, so we need to work extremely curls to a good scope. Management extremely professional risk management approach to reduce and eliminate all unnecessary work to make sure that the Project is being done with the last amount of effort. And this of course will bring us to the better cost management, have a better time management, a bad quality.

Management a better quality Management. So this concept it's not only to be efficient, but hyper efficient do extremely well, no way. If there is no time for waste, the second is transparency, and this is that the increase in the oversight and governance. It's an extremely good for us to think and to oversight all the projects, imagine all the economic stimulus by the us government, about $800 billion.

We need to have total transparency check in on this. We need to make sure that everybody is aware off air, everything that is happening in our projects. And then this will increase loyalty is streamlined projects, and it will improve for sure. The end results though. There is no the time and no space now to boot waist down to the, the carpet, for example. So it's very, very important to make clear that we see all the problems and all the problems are clearly address by the Project.

The turd is the power of Alliance is to make sure that we have extremely good partnership to reduce the financial burden. An AUSA reduce our risk of cores. The choice of a partner is not an easy task. And if you choose the wrong partner, you can conduct your Project to the failure, or you need to make sure that you are finding an partner with good people, good behavior.

And that will sum with your knowledge to build better results. The fourth draft is the job cuts for short, and this is a very polemic topic. And I'd like also to address the Report, but also to address my personal comment on that first, for sure, with the market downturn, we are facing big job cuts, not only in the PM field, but in all fields. And the project manager are feeling this job cuts.

But as I said, many, many times in other podcasts, if you have talent, if you Excel in what you do, there is no crisis. There is no crisis. So this the time now is first for the professionals study certify yourself, Luke for improvement, talent, beaut talent. But in the other hand for the companies seek for good people. Don't waste your time with extremely junior project managers that sell in a big CV, their experience, but no real experience on that.

And this is extremely serious. We need to look for good people and you as a project manager, must boot yourself to train, to prepare and to promote yourself into the company. So this partnership talent will drive results. Good people will drive results. Of course, that we will face challenges. Everybody's facing challenges. But if we are prepared, we can address and deliver more results for our companies.

And I'd like to invite you also to listen. Another Podcast about talent management that I presented directly from the economist conference in June. It's a very, very interesting, Podcast talking only about this topic and the last one last but not least. It's the near sourcing. It's a very interesting topic. I have never thought about that is to outsourcing. Luckily is strength to find suppliers and find service providers that are close to You.

This will reduce your stress in this moment. It's a very good for cultural aspects because we have people with the same culture and this local offer that will reduce dramatically. All the lemmas that we usually have billing with people in other parts of the planet. But of course, does this not a rude or you need to check if you have enough competence in your region to find us and ease, of course, if you will improve your region, if you partner with people, and if you hire contractors from your region, then you will improve the economic development of your region.

So the Report say there is not too much time and space for global approach at this time. And this is, I'm saying there's in a very careful way because the global approach, the globalization is something that is a fact. But if we can find people in our region to supply us with the better service, though, with better services, with a very good, cool, TRO understanding, we can produce better results.
