Hello everybody welcome to the five minutes PM. Podcast Today. I like to share with you one conversation that I had last week, about how we can sell the project management idea. It's very easy for us to go to a PMI event or to go to a project management Congress and talk about project management team. We look, or the eyes are bright. Everybody's smiling and happy, but I like to share with you that people that are not on this field, that our, from all other areas, they may not perceive project management, like we perceive.

So I like to share with you five tips that you can use today to help you to sell and to market Project Management the first it's sell the results and not the process. What do I mean by that? Nobody is looking for process. Everybody is looking for results, so I don't sell them. Oh, we have a methodology. Look, the process flow that we have all of this great, all of this.

Those are great. But what really matters is the results that we are producing in the projects. So we need to show, okay, we use all these tools and the result was productivity, better results, cost, saving, time, saving, less risk. This is what helps you to sell the second show. The results in numbers, not in perceptions.

And remember the Podcast that I publish it a couple of weeks ago, talking about the return on investment of the project management process, each showing important to understand this it's so important because I studied about the near trying to model and to create the mathematical model to do that. And this helps you because you will transform something that is intangible. Oh, I know it's good to have a process, but how good show middle numbers, you are spending a million dollars on doing this, which kind of savings I will have.

So try to do that. Remember again, there's one great book about measuring often tangibles. It's called how to measure anything from Douglas Uber. It's a great book to show the return and to show us some numbers around intangibles things that we do not have the habit of measure. The third one, seek for a strategic allies, people to support You before you do that big event with a thousand people in the auditorium, which for someone to talk, try to find people that will support do you from the beginning, this guy's, we'll be the first one to clap.

When you do the presentation, the first we want to save cool does is great. I don't practice to show them in the big stage search and try to find the lice and support them with everything. Because when we you go public, when you go to the big market, this people will see you. Do you have a lot in the marketing and sales of product management? If one is to preach simplicity, a common language, nobody likes anymore.

Complex things. Think Lin, bees, Martin, on that because the people trust in what they can understand. If I can understand, I trust. If I cannot understand, it will be very hard for me to press and to buy the idea. So if you show something, a look does a simple, the processes, simple, and the process drive the big, big results. This is why, right? Really concerns someone at the decision level and the fifth one.

Shold the price of the failure. She told the price of not doing that. Anything, all of my car, everybody that comes to me asking, asking for help. No one of them are very happy. Nobody comes to me and Dell, all right, projects are perfect. We are looking for something, right? But we are a perfect, this doesn't exist. So show them the price of not doing anything. And how much does it cost delays, risks?

How much does it cost issues, problems, scope, grip. So those have the five to 10, all of them quite easy because all of them are related to the cotrol side of product management. So sell the results and not the process. Second showed the results in that numbers in a tangible way, dirt seek for allies, for people to support You forth, preach simplicity, and a common language.

And last but not least will the price of the failure with that five Tips.
